in 11th grade art we had to make mythical creatures with clay but i didn’t want to do that so i made a log and added a lil worm friend on top of it but my teacher got mad and said i had to make it mythical so i added a horn to it and made it a uniworm

this is why art classes in schools suck. That is a bloody amazing log. look at the texture, the colour. The worm is incredible and the teacher is unhappy because it was supposed to be mythical? Who the fuck cares? will the teacher have their pay docked if a student makes a logworm instead of a basilisk???

This furthers the argument that school is about following instructions, not learning. That really is a great sculpture, by the way.

this is why i ended up hating art, my teacher would try and tell me what to do but i just told her i was doing it my way or itd just be the same as everyone elses

Jesus christ, what a load of bullshit.
Art class is no different from any other class you are taking. Art class is not “Let’s sit down and create anything I want.” In History, you are given a task, you follow it, you get graded. Art is no different. It isn’t playtime. It is a practical lesson but you still follow the task you are given.
Traditional education is about following a curriculum. You don’t just pick-and-choose when you’re given a task. If you want to create something unique, do it in your free time. I could bang out a pretty good essay on cartoons but that won’t get me a grade.
Right now, I am in art school and my current project requires me to draw a lot of scientific birds, plants and animals. If I handed in my own work - which was fantastic, beautifully drawn and absolutely marvellous - but completely irrelevant to what my task is, I would fail and probably get kicked off my course.
Next time, before you feel like flunking in art class, try and remember that you are IN SCHOOL and you can create and develop your own work in your free time.

So if we have to show women what the baby looks like in their womb and tell them how the process works before allowing them to get an abortion, does that mean we should teach our soldiers about the culture of the lands we’re invading, and explain to them that the people we want them to kill have families and feel pain, just like Americans?

This was a LOT of fun to do! This is a sprite version of one of Endling’s concept bosses for Terraria called The Beast. I was given permission to redraw this amazing critter. Sorry that the animation is simple and boring, I don’t have enough free time to do any detailed animations :C Everything is drawn by me except for the background which is from Terraria. Enjoy!Art © MeBackground © RedigitConcept © Endling

The concept is simple. Take a blank sheet with nothing but the basic outline of a pinup girl and illustrate a unique scene around her.”
